Lost.

Mon Oct 12, 2009, 5:33 AM
Well I lost the competition.
I didn't make the top 5 or the top 10 notable entries... so that blows pretty fucking hard.

However :icondanielaraya: did make it into the top 5, and is up for the grand prize! Vote for him! Vote for him hard!
He's the first piece that you can vote for here: [link]

Competition Piece is up

Mon Sep 28, 2009, 2:23 PM
I've uploaded the piece that I've submitted to the Alvin Lee Art Coloring Competition.

Special thanks goes to :iconangryzenmaster: Jamie for guiding me along the way and overall being a good art friend.

This is again for :iconalvinlee:'s coloring competition, I didn't draw it, he did. I just provided the (somewhat) pretty colors.

Sorry

To all of you who follow this, and read my journal and look forward to art uploads from me...
I've been crazy busy with work and stuff right now so I haven't had much time to do my own work.
I've also been working on a color contest piece for Alvin Lee Art :iconalvinlee: or [link]
It's a tribute piece for Street Fighter. I've been putting most of my free time and artistic powers into working on that, though I have been sketching up a storm lately as well.
Ever since PittCon and thinking more about going back to school for art, I've been trying my damnedest to get back into the groove as an artist.
So after the 30th when I've hit the deadline for the Alvin Lee contest you should see some more digital paints and stuff like that coming from me to you.

So tomorrow I get my new Cintiq 12WX to replace the one that I dropped like a fucking idiot.
This one will be placed in high care, and near NOTHING with corners!
I've missed my old Cintiq so much, and have worked extra hard to have enough extra to buy this one!
I had to go the refurbished route, but I'm sure it will work just as well!
So, tomorrow it should be coming in the mail, and I'll be here waiting for it.
So, something new should be up by some point tomorrow/the following day.

I got Featured (Sort of!)

A great artist named Cataclysm-X was asking people to post to her 2 of their own personal favorites from their page, and asked them to tell her the meaning of art to them.
So I (along with a ton of other people) posted my 2cents on art, as well as my 2 submissions to be featured in her Holiday News Article.
Well my art didn't get featured, but a quote from my definition of art (a much abridged version but hey it's still there!) was placed as a quote in her article.
Here's my full quote:
"Art has always been a great escape for me, growing up I was never really accepted that much, until I started to draw. Someone once commented to me that they thought it was funny that I could draw so well but my handwriting was terrible. I told them it was because I'd been drawing longer...
Art has been a part of my life since before I can remember, and I'm most grateful for the fact that I can even still do it. I've had 3 surgeries on my drawing hand over the last 3 years and that caused me to fall out of drawing for months at a time. I was told that I'd be luck to be able to write let alone draw still, and since I can still draw I've loved it even more!
The message I would like to show is that despite great adversity you can achieve anything you desire, so long as you're willing to work for it."

It got broken down to "Despite great adversity you can achieve anything you desire, so long as you're willing to work for it"

If I knew how to properly reference her in this so that she could know I'd posted this I would, but I'm a DA noob so I don't know how to do it.
Here's a link to her profile:

And here's a link to the News Article I was "featured" in :D :

Pretty sweet holiday!
